Brief Introduction

Vitamin A Palmitate(Retinyl palmitate) is a form of vitamin A. It is the ester of retinol combined with palmitic acid, a saturated fatty acid that is the main component of palm oil. Retinyl Palmitate is easily absorbed by the skin and converted to Retinol. It is a yellow or yellow-red solid or oily substance.

Application

Vitamin A palmitate ophthalmic gel is widely used clinically, and its use experience is mainly aimed at repairing the function of goblet cells and reversing cell keratinization. Conjunctival goblet cells are an important part of the conjunctival epithelium, and their main function is to secrete mucin, protect and lubricate the ocular surface. Inflammation of the conjunctiva caused by allergic conjunctivitis, Sjögren's syndrome, burns, etc. will damage the goblet cells, resulting in abnormal mucin layer.

Biological Activity

Vitamin A Palmitate(Retinyl palmitate) is a more stable synthetic addition of the essential nutrient vitamin A to palmitic acid.
