Sodium 8-(2-hydroxybenzamido)octanoate
Brief Introduction:
Sodium 8-(2-hydroxybenzamido)octanoate, also called sodium N-[8-(2-hydroxybenzoyl)amino]caprylate), the abbreviation is SNAC, which is a synthetic N-acetylated amino acid derivative of amphoteric salicylic acid.
It is currently the most advanced intestinal permeation enhancer (PEs) and is widely used as a delivery agent for oral pharmaceutical preparations. In 2014, SNAC was applied to oral vitamin B12 (cyanocobalamin/SNAC) and was successfully approved by the FDA.

Mechanism of action of SNAC and Semaglutide:
When semaglutide tablets disintegrate in the stomach, salcaprozate sodium causes an increase in local pH in the stomach through buffering, and the increase in gastric pH reduces the degradation of semaglutide by pepsin.
On the other hand, SNAC promotes semaglutide monomerization by changing the polarity of the solution in which the tablet is dissolved, thus weakening hydrophobic interactions that would otherwise promote semaglutide oligomerization. The absorption of semaglutide is mainly due to the indirect effect of SNAC, which is incorporated into the lipid membrane of gastric cells, allowing semaglutide to pass across cells.
Packaging:
1g/bottle, 5g/bottle, 10g/bottle, 100g/bag, 500g/bag, 1kg/bag or according to the specific requirements from customers.
Storage Conditions:
Short-term storage at room temperature; more than three months is best stored at 2-8 degrees Celsius; more than one year is best stored at -20±5 degrees Celsius.
For reducing the absorption of the moisture, it should be slowly warmed to ambient temperature before opened.
Shelf Life:
24 months if stored in unopened original bottles or bags away from heat and moisture.
