Phenothiazine
Brief Introduction:
Phenothiazine is an organic compound with a molecular formula of C12H9NS and a molecular weight of 199.272. It is a pale yellow powder or flake; easily soluble in benzene, ether and hot acetic acid, slightly soluble in alcohol and mineral oil, almost insoluble in petroleum ether, chloroform and water.
The colour becomes darker after long-term storage, is easily oxidized in sunlight, and can sublimate. Mainly used as an excellent polymerization inhibitor for alkenyl monomers in the production of acrylic acid, acrylate, methacrylate, and vinyl acetate. It is also used in the synthesis of drugs, dyes, polyethers, antioxidants and rubber antioxidants. And also used as anthelmintic for livestock and insecticide for fruit trees.
