Methyl Methacrylate
Brief Introduction:
Methyl methacrylate (MMA), also known as methacrylic acid methyl ester, is an organic compound with the chemical formula C5H8O2. It is a colourless liquid, slightly soluble in water, and soluble in most organic solvents such as ethanol. Mainly used as monomer of organic glass.
MMA is also used in the manufacture of other resins, plastics, coatings, adhesives, lubricants, wood and cork sizing agents, paper polishes, etc.

Applications:
1) As a component of inks and adhesives, it has good transparency, stability and resistance to fading, and is widely used in the production of billboards, signs, maps and posters;
2) As the main component of coatings, including indoor and outdoor decoration, floor coatings, aluminum foil coatings and metallic paints, it dries quickly and has high curing strength compared with other materials, and can increase the wear resistance and UV resistance of the designated products;
3) As key monomers in the manufacture of polymers and emulsion polymers, these polymers have a wide range of applications in waterproofing materials, textile processing, adhesives and coatings;
4) Used as a monomer for organic glass, and is also a raw material for the manufacture of other resins, plastics, coatings, adhesives, lubricants, sizing agents for wood and cork, and other products.
Packaging:
190kg/Drum, IBC or ISO Tank.
Storage Method:
Polymerization inhibitors are usually added to this product. Store in a cool, ventilated warehouse. Avoid direct sunlight, and keep away from fire and heat sources. The storage temperature should not exceed 37°C. The packaging must be sealed and must not come into contact with air. They should be stored separately from oxidants, acids, alkalis, halogens, etc., and avoid mixed storage. It should not be stored in large quantities or for long periods of time. Use explosion-proof lighting and ventilation facilities. It is prohibited to use mechanical equipment and tools that are prone to sparks to operate this product. The storage area should be equipped with emergency release equipment and suitable containment materials.
First-Aid Measures:
Skin Contact: Take off contaminated clothing and wash skin thoroughly with soap and water;
Eye Contact: Lift eyelids and rinse with running water or saline. seek medical treatment;
Inhalation: Leave the scene quickly to fresh air. Keep your breathing open. If breathing is difficult, give oxygen. If breathing stops, perform artificial respiration immediately. seek medical treatment;
Ingestion: Drink plenty of warm water and induce vomiting. Seek medical attention.
Protective Measures:
Respiratory System Protection: When you may be exposed to its vapor, you should wear a self-priming filter gas mask (half mask);
Eye Protection: Wear chemical safety glasses;
Body Protection: Wear anti-static overalls;
Hand Protection: Wear rubber oil-resistant gloves;
Other Protection: Smoking is strictly prohibited at the work site. After work, take a shower. Pay attention to personal hygiene.
