Geraniol
Brief Introduction:
Geraniol is an acyclic monoterpene alcohol compound. It is one of the main components of essential oils such as rose oil, rosa citronella oil, and citronella oil, and is also found in small amounts in geranium and lemon. It is a colourless to yellow oily liquid at room temperature, with a mild, sweet rose smell and a bitter taste, hardly soluble in water, soluble in organic solvents.
Geraniol and its esters are widely used as daily flavors and food flavors, it is the main agent of rose flavors and is used to prepare daily products and foods.

Applications of Geraniol in Perfumery:
Geraniol and its ester derivatives are widely used as daily flavors. It is the main agent of rose flavors and can be used in fruity flavors such as strawberry, peach, apple, orange, and pineapple, and food flavors such as ginger and cinnamon.
Geraniol is also used to prepare geraniol esters (such as geranyl acetate, geranyl formate), citral, vanillin, vanillyl alcohol, vitamin A, ionone and hydroxyvanillin.
