Finerenone
Brief Introduction:
Finerenone is a powerful non-steroidal highly selective mineralocorticoid receptor antagonist. It usually has high selectivity and affinity, and can effectively block the effects of aldosterone receptors. It can also reduce psychological burden, lower blood pressure, etc. It can have a certain inhibitory effect on inflammatory reactions and fibrosis, can delay damage caused by kidney function, and can also be used to treat diabetes, kidney disease, heart failure and other diseases with certain therapeutic effects.

Indications:
For use in adults with chronic kidney disease associated with type 2 diabetes (estimated glomerular filtration rate [eGFR] 25 to <75 mL/min/1.73 m2 with albuminuria) to reduce persistent eGFR decline, end-stage Risk of kidney disease.
Pharmacological Effects:
This drug is a nonsteroidal, selective mineralocorticoid receptor (MR) antagonist. MR is expressed in the kidney, heart, and blood vessels, and finerenone can reduce inflammation and fibrosis mediated by MR overactivation.
