Brief Introduction:

Ethylene glycol monobutyl ether is an organic compound with the chemical formula C6H14O2. It is a colourless and transparent liquid, soluble in water, acetone, benzene, ether, methanol, carbon tetrachloride and other organic solvents and mineral oil.

Mainly used as a high boiling point solvent for paints, especially nitrocellulose spray paints, quick-drying paints, varnishes, enamels and paint strippers. It is also used as adhesive, non-reactive diluent, metal detergent, paint stripper, fiber wetting agent, pesticide dispersant, drug extractant, and resin plasticizer.

Applications of our Ethylene Glycol Monobutyl Ether(Butyl Glycol):

As a commonly used solvent, ethylene glycol monobutyl ether is widely used in pharmaceutical, chemical, food, plastic, printing and dyeing, ink and other industries. Can be used to make pigments, resins, paints, glues, detergents, etc. In addition, ethylene glycol butyl ether can also be used as antifreeze, bactericide, reducing agent, etc., and can improve the fluidity of polymers and enhance elasticity.

1. Medicine:
Ethylene glycol monobutyl ether is also used in the pharmaceutical field. It can be used as a solvent that regulates endothelial cell permeability and inhibits fibrinolysis. It can treat diseases such as pulmonary insufficiency by improving the permeability of the vascular endothelial barrier. It can also be used to make drug microspheres and sustained-release agents.

2. Food:
Ethylene glycol monobutyl ether is used in the food industry as a bactericide, preservative and colour-preserving agent.

3. Paints and Coatings:
Ethylene glycol monobutyl ether is mainly used as a high-boiling point solvent for nitrocellulose spray paint, quick-drying paint, varnish, enamel and paint stripper, which can improve the gloss and fluidity of the coating film.

4. Daily Chemicals:
Ethylene glycol monobutyl ether can also be used to make leather, plastic and other products to increase their durability and softness. At the same time, it can also be used as an anti-leather cracking agent to prevent leather from drying out and cracking easily.

5. Analysis and Determination:
Used as a reagent and solvent for the determination of iron and molybdenum, and also used to separate calcium and strontium from nitrates.

6. Ethylene glycol monobutyl ether is also used as a stabilizer for latex paints, evaporation inhibitors for aircraft paints, automobile engine detergents, surface processing of high-temperature baking enamels, and auxiliary solvents for mineral oil emulsification, etc.

Packaging:

186kg/Iron Drum, IBC or ISO Tank.

Storage & Transportation Methods:

Pack completely, pack and unload with care, store in a ventilated warehouse away from open flames and high temperatures; stored separately from oxidants.

Handling & Storage:

Operation Precautions:

1) Operate in a well-ventilated designated place and use the minimum amount.
2) Use fireproof containers whenever possible.
3) Wear appropriate protective equipment and avoid contact with skin and eyes.
4) Keep away from sparks, heat sources and general working areas. Use exhaust machines and electrical equipment that do not produce sparks. Containers should be covered when not in use and placed in a grounded fireproof cabinet.

Storage Notes:

Store in a closed, grounded container in a cool, well-ventilated place. Best stored in approved safety containers. Solvent-resistant materials should be used in storage and handling areas.

Shelf Life:

12 months if stored under above conditions.
