Brief Introduction:

Cocamidopropyl betaine is a zwitterionic surfactant, which has excellent stability under acidic and alkaline conditions. It is cationic and anionic respectively. It is often used together with anionic, cationic and nonionic surfactants. Its compatibility is good.

It is less irritating, easily soluble in water, stable to acid and alkali, has many foams, strong detergency, and has excellent thickening, softness, bactericidal, antistatic, and hard water resistance. It can significantly improve the softness, conditioning and low temperature stability of laundry products.

Production Process:

Coconut oil is used as the raw material. Coconut oil generates PKO through condensation reaction with N, N dimethylpropylenediamine, and then PKO is prepared by two-step quaternization reaction with sodium chloroacetate(made from monochloroacetic acid and sodium carbonate) to obtain cocamidopropyl betaine, the yield is about 90%.

Performance and Application:

Cocoamidopropyl Betaine is an amphoteric surfactant with good cleaning, foaming and conditioning effects, and has good compatibility with anionic, cationic and nonionic surfactants.

Cocoamidopropyl Betaine has low irritation, mild performance, and fine and stable foam. It is suitable for shampoo, shower gel, facial cleanser, etc., and can enhance the softness of hair and skin.

When Cocoamidopropyl Betaine is compatible with an appropriate amount of anionic surfactant, it has obvious thickening effect, and can also be used as a conditioner, wetting agent, bactericide, antistatic agent, etc.

Because Cocoamidopropyl Betaine has good foaming effect, it is widely used in oil field exploitation. Its main function is as a viscosity reducer, oil displacement agent and foaming agent, making full use of its surface activity, infiltrating, penetrating and stripping crude oil in oily mud, improving tertiary mining recovery rate.

Product Features:

1. Excellent solubility and compatibility;

2. Excellent foaming and remarkable thickening properties;

3. It has low irritation and bactericidal properties, and its compatible use can significantly improve the softness, conditioning and low temperature stability of washing products;

4. Good resistance to hard water, antistatic and biodegradability.

Uses:

Cocoamidopropyl Betaine is widely used in the preparation of medium and high-grade shampoos, body washes, hand sanitizers, foam cleansers, etc., and household detergents; it is the main ingredient in the preparation of mild baby shampoos, baby foam baths, and baby skin care products.

Cocoamidopropyl Betaine is an excellent softening conditioner in hair care and skin care formulations; it can also be used as detergent, wetting agent, thickener, antistatic agent and bactericide, etc.
