Effects:
4-Butylresorcinol is a high-efficiency skin whitening and brightening agent, which has the following effects:
1. Strong inhibitor of tyrosinase and peroxidase;
2. Effective skin whitening agent and toner for normal skin;
3. An effective whitening agent for pigmented skin;
4. Effective against chloasma (skin with hyperpigmentation exposed to sunlight);
5. It has a strong protective effect on DNA damage induced by H2O2;
6. Proved to have anti-glycation effect.
In the three processes of melanin source synthesis, 4-butylresorcinol not only has an important inhibitory effect on tyrosinase activity, but also has a synergistic effect on its whitening activity in the process:
♔ Before the synthesis of melanin, it interferes with the synthesis and glycosylation of tyrosinase to prevent the enzyme from being absorbed by melanosomes.
♔ During melanin synthesis, it inhibits the activity of enzymes, acts as a competitive inhibitor of tyrosinase and TRP1 enzymes, and reduces the formation of by-products that promote melanin production.
♔ After melanin is synthesized, it improves the degradation of tyrosinase, inhibits the transfer of melanosomes to keratinocytes, and has a light stripping effect due to the action of fatty acids. This function is enhanced by the presence of fatty acids and regulates tyrosinase degradation.
